FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About Home Moving
The 15 most asked questions about moving from Turkey to Europe, item lists, customs exemptions, packaging, insurance, and costs.
How does moving from Turkey to Europe work?
The moving process consists of survey, packaging, loading, customs, and delivery stages. The appropriate vehicle type is determined based on your item list and customs documents are prepared. The average process is completed in 7-14 days from initial quote to delivery.
How is the moving cost calculated?
Cost is determined by item volume (cubic meters), distance between origin and destination cities, and additional services. An average apartment move requires 8-15 cubic meters of volume. You can get an estimated cost by selecting your items in our quote calculator.
How should I prepare my item list?
Create a list by counting items room by room. Specify large furniture (sofa, bed, wardrobe), white goods, and number of boxes. You can easily create your list using the ready-made item categories in our online quote calculator.
Is there a customs exemption for moving to Europe?
People making a residence transfer to an EU country may benefit from customs exemption for used personal belongings. Items must have been in your possession for at least 6 months and you must have a residence permit in the destination country. The exemption application is made to the customs authority of the destination country.
Do you offer a packaging service?
We offer professional packaging services. Fragile items are wrapped with foam and bubble wrap, furniture is protected with blankets and stretch film. Our packaging team arrives at your address on the loading day and prepares all items for transport.
Is insurance mandatory for home moving?
Standard CMR carrier liability covers all shipments. We offer optional comprehensive insurance for full-value protection. For household goods transport, the insurance rate is typically between 1.5% and 2.5% of the item value.
What vehicle types are used?
Depending on the volume, we use a minivan (3 m3), panel van (8 m3), large panel van (14 m3), truck (25 m3), or TIR (80 m3). A 1-bedroom apartment typically requires a panel van, and a 3-bedroom apartment requires a truck. The most suitable vehicle is recommended based on volume calculation.
How long does a home move take?
Moving from Turkey to Germany takes 7-10 business days, to France and Spain 10-14 business days. This period covers packaging, loading, customs, and road transport. With the express option, the time can be shortened by 3-5 days.
